Tulip Festival

Due to the never ending school holidays and visits from family I’ve had a lull in activity on the work front but back into now and wanted to share with you a lovely day out yesterday at Pashley Manor in Ticeshurst.http://www.pashleymanorgardens.com/events_featured.html. Only 45 minutes drive from Sevenoaks, they are currently hosting a Tulip Festival where you will see 30,000 tulips on display in the beautiful historic gardens. After a lovely chilly morning browsing the garden’s we then stopped off for a yummy lunch at the local Bell Inn in Ticehurst. http://www.thebellinticehurst.com/whats-on. The Bell, is a quirky pub and hotel where there’s a story to each of its seven bedrooms, each
with its own tree. Three lodges and a Love Nest in an enchanted garden complete all the eleven rooms. We had a quick tour and would really recommend this for a weekend away with a group of friends or a mid-week break with the other half. It could be a bit noisy on the weekends!

Keeping it Local

When it comes to buying locally I’m a huge fan of supporting our local farmers here in Sevenoaks. One of my favourites is Romshed Farm (romshedfarm.co.uk). A local organic family run farm in Underriver which supplies naturally reared organic produce to locals in Kent. They offer educational visits and have loads of fun things to keep the kids occupied. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for their fun family open days coming up soon.
